Having an Active Lifestyle as a Senior, begins with Proactive Monitoring of Foot Health
If a senior is unable to reach their feet, they can’t provide the regular self-care they need. This means nails can’t be trimmed, feet can’t be cleaned or moisturized, and diabetics can’t notice potential foot wounds or issues. We make foot care a priority, and to make it easy and beneficial for everyone involved.
COMMON FOOT ISSUES IN SENIORS
Bunions and Hammertoes
Most of these are caused by poor-fitting or non-supportive shoes and can become painful. We offer several treatments for correcting these issues.

Diabetic Foot Issues
We offer treatments for ulcers, wounds, and sores as well as application techniques to reduce Diabetic Neuropathy. The exam will assess for numbness or changes in sensation.
Corns, Calluses, Spurs
The examination includes checking for dryness, cracking, calluses, blisters, ulcers, and any other damage that might indicate issues requiring attention immediately, as well as issues that may present down the road.
Ill-Fitting Shoes
The fit and condition of your shoes will be evaluated to ensure they are not causing or exacerbating foot problems. Diabetic Shoes are available through our office.
Arthritis
We will evaluate your feet and ankles to determine the exact type of arthritis you have. Once they have determined what type of arthritis you have, they can create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Toenails
We will look for cracks and signs of fungal infection, which can be common in diabetic patients, as well as any indication of systemic issues such as endocarditis, melanoma, carcinoma, malnutrition, and deficiencies
